Traffic barriers provide our clients with a safe and secure low-operating means of securing an entrance to their business. Thanks to their high levels of energy efficiency, they are extremely cost effective to operate, and in many cases, these barriers can also be operated automatically, reducing the need for additional staffing…an investment that definitely pays!
We can provide our clients with traffic barriers that range in size from 3.5M to 10M. Clients also have the ability to choose optional grating or security grating that also has ‘climb-over prevention’, helping to enhance the security of your business premises.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Barriers
The traffic barriers that Almet Doors supply, can if required, be fully automated. This is an ideal solution for a business, as it allows them to use this product to measure and control the granting of access, to an employee staff car park for example, or if required, for pre-approved vehicles who are making deliveries and collections to and from the business.
Access is granted through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and as the vehicle approaches the traffic barrier it scans the number plate of that vehicle and then checks it against a pre-approved listing, which will determine whether it is granted access automatically or if it requires a call to be put through to a security office to confirm the reason for their visit.
It also has the additional benefit of being able to log all interactions of the vehicles entering or leaving the site, providing the business owner with additional site security.
Intercom Traffic Barriers
Sometimes there is a need for the traffic barriers to be linked with an intercom, this might be the case for example with a car parking barrier, where although it may have ANPR, there is a need from time to time, possibly when the patrons using the car park have a problem, to speak to an operator…and this is where the intercom system comes into its own.
The intercom can be linked to an on-site security office or to any off-site area as well, such as a centralised call centre. The intercom can also if required, be backed up by additional camera security to provide more detail of why the user is calling the intercom and any problems they are trying to convey.
Toll and Parking Payment Vehicle Barriers
In many instances our traffic barrier products can also be linked to a payment device. This can be a coin operated payment device, smart card, chip & pin reader or even an employee identity badge, which can also then act as a means of providing controlled access to a parking facility.
The coin operated or smart payment system, will allow access once a pre-determined toll fee has been met and again, it has the ability to record all movements, in and out through the toll area.
